Technically it’s a float, not a shake, but “Shiner Shake” rolls off the tongue better, and the Texans who call every soda a Coke really have no leg to stand on.
What you’ll need before buying the ingredients:
Ice cream scoop
A 32-ounce mason jar (or several)
A blender
When you’re ready to buy ingredients, stop by your local H-E-B and pick up the following items:
Blue Bell vanilla ice cream
Any brand of Irish cream liqueur (Baileys, O’Mara’s, Carolans, doesn’t matter)
H-E-B Bakery real whipped cream
Heritage Food Crafters chocolate syrup
And finally, a six-pack of bottled Shiner (or more if you’re having a lot of friends over)
Stick your beer in the freezer and set a timer for 12 minutes. Once the timer dings, pull the beer out of the freezer and grab a blender. Pour in two whole bottles of Shiner Bock, and after that, pour in an intuition’s measure of Irish cream and hit the button. Then while you’re letting the blended Irish cream and Shiner settle, grab your mason jar and toss in two big boy scoops of vanilla ice cream (or three if you’re Wilford Brimley and you have diabeetus). Take the Irish cream/Shiner blend and pour it on top of the ice cream scoops until the mason jar is filled to the 3-cup mark on the measure marking. After that, add a whipped cream top layer until it’s all the way to the brim and drizzle on a nice zig-zag of chocolate syrup.
And that’s it!
Enjoy your Shiner Shake and remember the Alamo.
